Drag a vowel from the tray at the bottom and drop it onto the word where it belongs. The word will glow when you hover over it. You can also tap a vowel to select it, then tap an empty slot to place it.
Some vowels in the tray don't belong in the sentence — they're decoys designed to test your knowledge. On harder difficulties there are more decoys to sort through.
Tap the hint button during a round to reveal one or two correct vowels. It costs 8 seconds off your remaining time. You get one hint per round.
Each round scores up to 100 base points based on accuracy (correct vowels out of total slots). A time bonus adds remaining seconds multiplied by 3, scaled by your accuracy. Faster, more accurate solves score higher.
Go to High Scores from the home screen, then tap "Reset Stats" at the bottom. This permanently clears all scores and statistics across all difficulty levels.
Yes. Vowel Thief works entirely offline with no internet connection required.
No. Vowel Thief collects no personal data whatsoever. All game data is stored locally on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
